« Create an interface for centralized climate management that does not require any prior user training»
For Carrier Use Design created a tactile user interface for a centralized climate management system meant to be placed in middle-sized buildings such as offices, hotels and so on.
The main client objective for this completely new user interface was to offer a user experience that is simple, user-friendly and especially intuitive: ideally, allowing the user to execute the main use scenarios with no prior training or assistance.
First, Use Design worked on the product’s “deep” usability, optimizing the content structure and access to functionality. Second, we worked on “surface usability”, setting up a clear and consistent screen architecture.
The design itself strongly relied on the choices made during the “deep” usability phase. A semi-functional Flash prototype was then created in order to conduct user tests and validate the user interface quality, in particular its intuitiveness.
