«To create an interface style guide for several future applications»
Use Design assisted RFS (branch of Alcatel-Lucent) in the definition of an interface style guide for monitoring applications, those under development and those to be developed in the near future.
The style guide had to take into consideration two user types with different working conditions:
people who use the application occasionally;
operators who monitor the system most of their time.
We have developed two interface versions, one for each of these two situations:
a light-colored version, suitable for an occasional user;
a dark-colored version, adapted for visual comfort in all-day intensive use and preventing eye fatigue.
The mission’s objective was to apply these two versions to a number of screens, accompanied by usability and graphic design recommendations. This allowed to produce different applications, for which both the developers and users could share the same “best practices”.
