«Create an interface well adapted to the logistics profession and context»

Use Design assisted Infflux in the definition of an interface for its new warehouse management software suite called BEXT.

Taking advantage of the transition to a new technological development platform (QT), we defined a new multi-windows interface concept.

Navigation between different functions is now done by means of tabs, as in an internet browser. This way the user can choose and organize the windows in which s/he works.

The screens are structured in a consistent way throughout the whole application, allowing quick adoption of the interface. For example, action buttons are always placed in the same area, as on a hardware control panel. The buttons are contextual and depend on the screen, to guide the user through the relevant tasks and reduce the functional clutter at a given moment.

Screen structure also facilitates displaying large tables, a necessity in logistics.

The transition to a new technology and rich component libraries is often, as in this case, a good opportunity to redesign an interface.
